I close my eyes and pray that nothing’s there ready to pounce, pull my feet from the covers I’ve heard the words and know they’re real shadows darker, black, creep along the walls Maybe you could be the one to take them away before they drag me to hell Maybe you could be the one to erase the thoughts inside my brain Disappearing into nightmare I know that there are demons lurking if I mess up I’ll be face-to-face with them But if I say it alright and if I’m holy enough I’ll make it through one more night without losing my cool But if I stay on this path I know that there’s no escape I’ll have to stare in the eye of the devil himself (and tell him how it is) Maybe you could be the one to take them away before they drag me to hell Disappearing into nightmare Maybe you could be the one to erase the thoughts inside my brain Disappearing into nightmare But if I say it alright and if I’m holy enough I’ll make it through one more night without losing my cool But if I stay on this path I know that there’s no escape I’ll have to stare in the eye of the devil himself (and tell him how it is)

Experience 04:02
Down near a warehouse district A building with glass doors Small rows of chairs, someone is standing there We were rushed out of the room It was all part of the plan To see the Holy Spirit move We had to give up something dear But that’s not easy for a child We’re Looking for an experience I believe you can handle this What makes the powerful fall Is not an answer I can take Such a sad sight to see People who choose to make believe and refuse to listen to the voice of reason We’re Looking for an experience I believe you can handle this What makes the powerful fall Is not an answer I can take What is it you’re looking for That you all wanted to leave this world made of dirt and dust to go find enlightenment or is it such a selfish act It’s paved with dishonesty Is that what it means to me Is that what it means to me We’re Looking for an experience I believe you can handle this What makes the powerful fall Is not an answer I can take What makes the powerful fall Is not an answer I can take What makes the powerful fall Is not an answer

Eight years old Walking down To the front of the crowd ready to experience what was said to be true bliss I tried my best to show that I was prepared to let it go I wanted to know what it felt like To be overwhelmed by His light Waiting in The longest line Everyone taller than I My heart to race and skip a beat What kinds of things waited for me When the preacher laid his hands on my head He gave the cue and he pushed me on back I tried to go, but I did not fall A sense of dread and fear crept in So he pushed me harder and I prayed again I tried my best to show that I Was prepared to let it go That night began the cycle of doubt That haunts me when I lay my head down

Does the question even need to be asked How is that you haven’t heard It’s time me to tell you the story of the underworld Cuz’ there’s a place where you can go Where demons can torment your soul But if you say a couple words Maybe you’re safe if you be good But if you cheat or drink or curse The odds of this could not be worse Good luck if you were born someway That goes against the theology You thought the media could scare you But this is much worse Are you hearing me clearly A child’s brain must be molded To prevent my guilt… uh, I mean Eternal suffering There was some time not long ago When Satan tried to take the thrown But he was cursed to rule the earth And take our soul at any cost When you lay your head at night Say a prayer that you might Not end up below the ground Tortured pain and gnashing sounds You can try with all your might But there’s no way out of here You can cry with all your heart But there’s no way out of here You can scream with all your soul But there’s not way out of here You thought the media could scare you Well this is much worse Hell is just a way to cope With things that are out of our control Vilify the other types Makes my life look twice as nice I don’t have faith and I don’t trust That there’s something bigger than us It all comes down to yes or no To set the path of our own soul
